Industrial Piping Superintendent - Traveling 

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent with a strong emphasis on mechanical piping systems for industrial projects. This role involves providing leadership, supervision, and support on-site to ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing piping operations in sectors like Pulp & Paper, Chemical, and Heavy Industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead piping crews and supervise daily work activities, ensuring all piping systems are installed according to project specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate mechanical and piping designs, ensuring the project's constructability.
  • Manage relationships with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met, while maintaining quality standards.
  • Construction Cost Management: Oversee project budgets, control costs, and manage change orders efficiently.
  • Provide direct supervision to foremen and ensure that piping work is executed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Develop construction plans, review piping drawings, and ensure material take-offs and requisitions are accurately prepared.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and develop solutions to ensure smooth project progress.
  • Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project timelines and resolving any site challenges.

Essential Skills:

  • Mechanical Piping Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Industrial Project Experience: Expertise in managing projects in Pulp & Paper, Chemical, and Heavy Industrial environments.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of direct hire craft resources and subcontractors.
  • Cost Management & Efficiency: Experience in managing construction costs, bidding, subcontractor coordination, and workforce allocation.
  • Technical Expertise: Ability to read and interpret piping specifications, blueprints, and construction schedules.
  • Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with OSHA regulations, particularly OSHA 10 & 30 certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in industrial piping construction with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in project management software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Certifications:

  • OSHA 10 & 30
  • PMP Certification (preferred but not required)
